Maria-Anna Dewes

°1955 Bonn , Germany

Maria Anna Dewes studied at the Düsseldorf Academy, where she lives and works. She belongs to a generation of German sculptors that favor traditional skills and techniques. Dewes uses plaster and colored resins to create figures which are frequently life-size and which she arranges in installations. Caught in fleeting poses, the sculptures convey a sense of suspended time in the real space of the viewer.
